Well, it's hard to believe, but as of today I have only one month left at the art gallery. I'm through on May 4 and plan to take the summer to slack off/upgrade my French, then I'm off to NSCC in the fall, to study PR. I'm a bit ambivalent about leaving -- part of me can't get out of there fast enough and part of me will miss the people I work with, and all the artists I've gotten to know. Today we reviewed a new batch of exhibition proposals and two of them were so exciting I'm sorry I won't be around to help make them happen. Oh well -- I can still visit. Well, the 35th Annual MSVU Community Show opening reception was the best ever, thanks in no small part to HFXmermaid (https://www.deviantart.com/hfxmermaid), who played guitar and sang, accompanied by her main squeeze on rhythm! She sang four songs, including one that she composed about being Gallery Attendant, as well as a very poignant tribute to her dear friend, who died not so long ago. The fact that she did four numbers encouraged our Argentine Tango dancers to do a fourth as well, which turned out to be their best. The university President was there (an unexpected surprise), as was the Vice-President Academic, and they were mightily impressed. Check out :devraine-angel
